New Restaurant Opening In Downtown Wallingford

The eatery is moving into the refurbished space of another popular restaurant that recently closed.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A new Italian restaurant is moving into the former home of J. Carvers on Center Street in Wallingford, according to the Record-Journal.

The Record-Journal reports La Piazza is expected to open in the refurbished space at 179 Center Street in late October to early November.

J. Carvers closed in June at the space, which was also the former home of Jake’s, after the owners said the decision was “due to circumstances way beyond our control.”

La Piazza owner Kristjan Lulaj, who also owns Antonio’s on Route 5 in North Haven, told the Record-Journal the new restaurant will offer items such as steak, veal, chicken, fish, pasta, and pizza, and said “everything will be fresh and made to order.”
