Obituary: Donald W. Merritt, 54, formerly of Wallingford
Donald, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, was an avid music enthusiast and talented guitar player.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Donald W. Merritt, 54, of Camden, DE, formerly of Tuscan, AZ and Wallingford, CT. passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022.
Don was a die-hard rocker to such bands as, Iron Maiden, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Metallica, to name a few.
Don loved playing his bass guitar, which he was self-taught and he was a one-time member of the band, “Fire”.
He attended Mark T. Sheehan High School where he played Football and Ran Track.
He was also a die-hard Pittsburg Steelers fan.
Don is survived by his wife, Terrie Merritt. His daughter, Alisha Alanis and her husband, M.A. Son, Sean Merritt and his wife, Amanda. Stepdaughter, Sierra. Sister, Karen Oakes and her husband, Arthur.
Seven grandchildren, two nephews, and five great nieces and nephews and many life-long friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at for a graveside service for Donald on Saturday, June 18th, at 11 am at St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
A celebration of Don’s life will immediately follow at Avante Restaurant, River Rd., South Meriden.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Locks of Love in his memory.
He was a donor himself and was very proud of his “Rocker” long hair.
Arrangements are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home.
