Obituary: Kenneth Joseph Daly, Jr., 75, of Wallingford
Ken, remembered fondly for his love and dry humor, worked for the CT Department of Transportation and was heavily active in the community.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Kenneth Joseph Daly, Jr., 75, of Wallingford, beloved husband of Kathleen Daly, passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden.
Born on February 16, 1947, he was the son of the late Dr. Kenneth and Emma (Holland) Daly of Manchester, New Hampshire.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Ken grew up in Manchester, New Hampshire, and raised his family in Wallingford, Connecticut. A graduate of Bishop Bradley High School and Fairfield University, he retired from the CT Department of Transportation as Environmental Compliance Manager.
Involved in the Wallingford community, he was PTA president at Moses Y. Beach, president of Wallingford Land Trust, a WYSL soccer coach, and was a frequent attendant of Town Council meetings.
Ken will be remembered fondly for his love, dry humor, and time with family in Vermont. In retirement, he especially enjoyed traveling with his wife and many friends, as well as celebrating his Irish heritage.
In addition to his wife, Kenneth is survived by his sons, Matthew Daly and his fiancé, Erin O’Brien of New Haven, Kenneth Daly, III and his wife, Shannon of Portland, CT and Mark Daly, and his wife, Ashley of Lone Tree, CO; his sisters, Kathleen Mirabile of Manchester, NH, and Sheila Spence of Ocala, FL; his grandsons, Jack, Graham, Sam, and Maxwell; his nieces, Dr. Elizabeth Mirabile-Levens, Catherine Mirabile, and Christina McCue, as well as numerous extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Maureen Daly and Eileen Daly.
Kenneth’s family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., on Friday, March 4th from 4:00 – 7:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 5th at 11:00 am directly at Most Holy Trinity Church, 84 N. Colony St., Wallingford. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Environmental Defense Fund, or a charity of your choice.
