Wallingford Police have arrested 13 suspects following a year-long investigation into the sale of narcotics in the town.
Around 8 p.m. Wednesday, police executed a search and seizure warrant at the Monte Carlo Cafe, 10 Judd Square, on the suspicion that cocaine was being sold at the location, according to a press release from police.
Police arrested Joshua Albee, 30, of 103 Church Street and Daniel Sabatucci, 42, of 73 Masonic Avenue at the location. As the search warrant was being executed, five arrest teams fanned out across Wallingford and other locations to locate and arrest individuals connected with the sale of cocaine at the cafe and from other locations for other narcotics related charges, police said.
Approximately 30 members of the Wallingford Police Department's Detective Division, Narcotics Unit, Community Police, Traffic Unit, Patrol Division and the Emergency Services Unit were involved in the investigation.
“This investigation is but one part of the Wallingford Police Department’s continuing efforts to stem the proliferation of illegal narcotics in Wallingford. It should send a clear and resounding message that we will not tolerate our community being inundated with illegal drugs and the criminal element that profits by them. We will continue to utilize every resource at our disposal to keep our community a safe place to live and work," police said.
Additional arrests are expected, police added.
Arrested as a result of the narcotics arrest warrant sweep were:
Kelly Hanson, 32, of 188 S. Orchard St. 3rd Fl. Wallingford, CT. Ms. Hanson was charged with Illegal Sale of Narcotics (3 counts), and Illegal Possession of Narcotics (3 counts). She was held in custody on a $100,000.00 court set bond.
Justin Toczylowski, 28, of LKA 109 William St., Wallingford, CT. Mr. Toczylowski was charged on three separate arrest warrants for (Illegal Sale of Narcotics (2 counts), Illegal Possession of Narcotics (2 counts), Sale W/I 1500 Ft of School Zone) and (Illegal Sale of Narcotics (2 counts), Illegal Possession of Narcotics (2 counts), Conspiracy to Sell Narcotics) and (Illegal Sale of Narcotics, Illegal Possession of Narcotics). Mr Toczylowski was held in custody on a total of $300,000.00 in court set bonds. During his arrest, Mr. Toczylowski resisted arrested and was subsequently charged with Interfering with a Police Office. While in custody, he spat in the face of a Wallingford Firefighter/Paramedic and was again charged with Assault on a Public Safety Officer and held on a additional $5,000.00 bond.
Christopher Tosney, 29, of 86 Kondracki Lane, Wallingford, CT. Mr. Tosney was charged on two separate arrest warrants for (Illegal Sale of Narcotics, Illegal Possession of Narcotics, Conspiracy To Sell Narcotics) and (Illegal Sale of Narcotics (2 counts), Illegal Possession of Narcotics (2 counts) and Conspiracy to Sell Narcotics). Mr Tosney was held in custody on a total court set bond amount of $200,000.00.
Joshua Albee, 30, of 103 Church St., Wallingford, CT. Mr. Albee was bartending at the Monte Carlo Café when the search warrant was executed. He was charged on two separate arrest warrants for (Conspiracy to Sell Narcotics, Conspiracy to Possess Narcotics) and (Conspiracy to Sell Narcotics, Conspiracy to Possess Narcotics) He was held in custody on a total court set bond amount of $200,000.00.
Steven Nylund, 49, of 1190 Marion Ave., Southington, CT. Mr. Nylund was charged with Doctor Shopping. He was released on a $5,000.00 bond.
Daniel Sabatucci, 42, of 73 Masonic Ave., Wallingford, CT. Mr. Sabatucci was charged with Illegal Sale of Narcotics and Illegal Possession of Narcotics. He was initially held in custody on a $100,000.00 court set bond. He was subsequently found in possession of cocaine at the time of the search warrant at the Monte Carlo Café. He was additionally charged with Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Sell. On the execution of the search warrant at Mr. Sabatucci’s home, an additional small amount of cocaine was located. He was again additionally charged with Possession of Narcotics. A $10,000.00 bond was place on Mr. Sabatucci for the additional charges.
David Muller, 53, of 96 Wildwood Lane, Uncasville, CT. Mr. Muller was charged with Illegal Sale of Narcotics (2 counts) and Illegal Possession of Narcotics (2 Counts). $20,000.00 court set bond. Mr. Muller was taken into custody on the Wallingford arrest warrant by the Connecticut State Police at his home in Uncasville, CT.
William Goldstein, 44, of 18 Holly Lane, Wallingford, CT. Mr. Goldstein was charged with Illegal Sale of Narcotics (2 counts), and Illegal Possession of Narcotics (2 counts). Mr. Goldstein was held in custody on a $200,000.00 court set bond.
Stephen Fairchild, 59, of LKA 23 Wallace Pl., Wallingford, CT. Mr. Fairchild was charged with Possession of Narcotics and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released on a $25,000.00 bond. At the time of his arrest, he was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and schedule II narcotics (Pills). He was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substances and Possession of Narcotics. He was release on a written promise to appear in court on the additional charges.
Melissa Falconeri, 24, of 45 Florence Ave., Wallingford, CT. Ms. Falconeri was charged with Illegal Sale of Narcotics, Illegal Possession of Narcotics and Conspiracy to Sell Narcotics. She was held in custold on a $75,000.00 court set bond.
Danielle Mercuri, 26, of 3 Roxbury lane, Wallingford, CT. Ms. Mercuri was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. She was released from custody on a $5,000.00 non-surety bond.
Jeffrey Besaw, 33, of 21 Hampton Trail, Wallingford, CT. Mr. Besaw was charged with Sale of Narcotics, Possession of Narcotics, Sale of Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana. Mr. Besaw was held on a $35,000.00 court set bond. All arrestees if they fail to make bond will be arraigned in Meriden Superior Court tomorrow, May 30, 2013. If they make bond their next court date will be June 11, 2013.
