Wallingford Principal Leaving to Take Job in Norwalk

A Wallingford elementary school principal is saying goodbye for a new position in Norwalk in the fall.

Wallingford, CT- - Elementary school Principal Nicholas Brophy is bidding farewell to E.C. Stevens Elementary and saying hello to Jefferson Science Magnet School in Norwalk.

Brophy, who has worked for Wallingford for the past five years, will oversea nearly twice as many students in his new position as principal of Jefferson Science, The Record-Journal reports.

His new job was announced in Norwalk at the Board of Education meeting this week, The Record-Journal reports.

In a note sent home to parents on Thursday, Brophy said that Jefferson School is closer to his home and presents new challenges.

"I have truly enjoyed working with the families at Stevens School," Brophy wrote. "We've shared many successes and memories. Our school is made up of students who demonstrate effort and care -- students who are the best they can be. I am happy to be part of the Stevens family, and I will remember you with fondness."
