Child Tax Rebate Deadline Is July 31: West Hartford

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Town officials are reminding residents that the deadline for parents or guardians to apply for $250-per-child tax rebates is fast approaching.

The deadline to apply for the new 2022 CT Child Tax Rebate is Sunday, July 31.

"This one-time rebate is intended to help Connecticut families with children," writes the Town of West Hartford in a statement.

Parents or guardians may be eligible for a child tax rebate of up to a maximum of $750 ($250 per child, up to three children) if they meet all of the following requirements:

• They are a resident of Connecticut.

• They have claimed at least one child as a dependent on a 2021 federal income tax return who was 18 years of age or younger.

• They meet certain income thresholds.

To assist in determining if someone qualifies for a child tax rebate, the Department of Revenue Services has developed an application, which is available through July 31.
