Expect Traffic Delays on North Main Street Beginning July 24
Paving will begin on at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The second phase of the resurfacing of North Main St. is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, July 24, and the Department of Transportation (DOT) is urging motorists to use alternate routes due to expected traffic that will result from lane closures.
According to a news release from the Town of West Hartford, the DOT will begin repaving North Main St., from Albany Ave. (Route 44) to Bloomfield Ave. (Route 189), beginning on Wednesday, July 24, and the work is expected to last for about 10 days, through early August. The majority of the work will be done between 5:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., according to the release.
The one exception to the timing of the work will be near the intersection of North Main and Albany, and that work will be done overnight, commencing at approximately 1 a.m. either Thursday, July 25 or Friday, July 26, and that work will continue into the daytime working north toward Bloomfield Ave., the release indicates.
The DOT's schedule is subject to change based on the weather.
According to the release there will be one lane of traffic maintained throughout the duration, and police officers and flagger will be used to control the traffic flow. A detour in not planned,but the DOT urges motorists to use alternate routes.
