Man, Woman Charged In West Hartford Chipotle Brawl: WHPD

Footage of last month's attack against two restaurant employees went viral, with one suspect from Ansonia and the other from Waterbury.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Local police have charged two Chipotle customers who they said went behind the counter of a West Hartford Chipotle last month and assaulted a worker.

According to the West Hartford Police Department, which issued a release Friday morning, the male and female were taken into custody on Thursday.

Police identified the suspects as Imani Joseph, 26, of Ansonia, and Chad McKoy, 26, of Waterbury.

Both were charged with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace, the WHPD said.

Both were released on a $10,000 surety bond and are scheduled to appear in Hartford Community Court on Jan. 14.

The Dec. 13, 2025, brawl was captured on video and made the rounds on broadcast news and social media.

According to the WHPD, officers dispatched that night to the Chipotle restaurant located at 1457 New Britain Ave. to investigate an assault complaint.

"It was reported that a male and a female customer both went behind the counter and assaulted two employees after a verbal argument about an order," wrote police.

Upon officers’ arrival, the male and female suspects had left the scene, police said.

The viral video helped police identify the suspects, and a warrant for the duo's arrest was granted Jan. 5, police said.
