Severe Thunderstorm Watch For Hartford County Canceled
The severe thunderstorm watch was originally to remain in effect until 8 o'clock Wednesday night.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — The National Weather Service has canceled a severe thunderstorm watch for Hartford County. The watch was set to expire at 8 p.m.
Counties included in that severe thunderstorm watch were:
- Fairfield
- New Haven
- Windham
- Hartford
- New London
- Tolland
The forecast for Wednesday calls for likely showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. today. There is also a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7 o'clock tonight. Tomorrow calls for mostly sunny skies.

A severe thunderstorm watch is issued by the National Weather Service when conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. A severe thunderstorm by definition is a thunderstorm that produces one inch hail or larger in diameter and/or winds equal or exceed 58 miles an hour, according to Weather.gov.
