Town Could Vote on $5 Million UConn Purchase Next Week

West Hartford, CT - The town could be finalizing a $5 million property purchase from the University of Connecticut early next week.

According to a report in The Hartford Courant, the West Hartford Town Council is expected to take a vote on Tuesday night on a proposed purchase agreement with the university.

The Courant reports that the 58-acre piece of property would be paid for in installments.

The town has yet to decide what it would do with the land, located at Asylum Avenue and Trout Brook Drive. The town would hold public hearings on the issue to gain community input, The Courant reports.
