Trick or Treat Miracle League Style is Saturday

Event for kids with special needs of all abilities and their families starts at 3 p.m.

The second annual Trick or Treat Miracle League Style will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26 starting at 3 p.m.

Children with special needs of all abilities and their families are invited to take part in the event, which is being held on the Miracle League Field’s rubberized surface on the corner of Troutbrook and Asylym Avenue.

Children may dress up if they wish, and there will be treats, face paintings and fun, according to an announcement.

We are inviting local businesses, civic groups and families to set up a 10 x 10 tent on the field to distribute candy, business coupons, or other give away items to the children who attend.  We are inviting all children with special needs from the area to attend.  We anticipate that up to 150 children will join us.  The tents will be arranged on the field for the children to have an accessible, safe area to go trick or treating.

"Please consider joining us on a nice fall afternoon to make some deserving kids happy," organizer Ronit Shoham wrote in a press release.

Businesses may also set up 10 x 10 tents that they may decorate, Shoham wrote.

"We only ask that you don’t make them too spooky; we don’t want to scare any of the children away," Shoham said.

There is no charge to sponsor a tent.

The rain date is scheduled for Oct. 27. For more information, email Ronit Shoham shokids@hotmail.com or check our website at http://www.miracleleaguect.org.
