Autism Eats partners with Perk on Main in Middletown
Perk on Main in Middletown is hosting an Autism Eats event on Sept. 17, 6-8 PM. Pre-registration is required.

Perk on Main located at 386 Main Street, Middletown is hosting an Autism Eats event on Tuesday, Sept 17 from 6-8 pm. The event offers a welcoming environment for families to dine together and connect with others facing similar experiences.
Dinner includes a buffet of garden salad, Hamburger, Grilled cheese, Potato chips, Cinnamon Sugar crepe, berries and chocolate chips on the side, and Chocolate chip cookie. Please indicate on the registration form if a gluten free option is required. Pre-registration is required and cost is $23/adults and $20/child.
The Autism Eats event will offer a tailored dining experience with reduced wait times and adjustments made for sensory sensitivities. Additionally, the organization’s founder, Lenard Zohn, and the Autism Eats team will provide optimal autism awareness training to all event staff and volunteers, allowing them to better serve the autism community.

Parents often feel anxious about their loved one’s behavior, and various aspects of the restaurant experience, such as other customers, wait times, and loud noises, can add to the stress. Perk on Main has partnered with Autism Eats, an organization dedicated to making dining out enjoyable for children and adults with autism.
