Empty Wethersfield Space Targeted To Be Banquet/Events Hall

WETHERSFIELD, CT — A West Hartford development group is looking to convert empty commercial space in Wethersfield into a banquet/events facility.

Virgins Enterprise LLC of West Hartford is seeking both special permit and site plan approval from the Wethersfield Planning and Zoning Commission to do just that.

The PZC is expected to take up the matter tonight, Feb. 6, with a public hearing scheduled. Once the hearing is closed, the PZC will vote on the applications.

That could come as soon as tonight (Feb. 6) or the PZC could vote to extend the hearing to the next meeting.

According to the application, the new banquet hall would be at 898 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield, on property owned by 898 Wethersfield LLC.

The working name for the new facility is "Euphoria Loft," according to documents submitted to the Town of Wethersfield.

The capacity is expected to be about 100, with the site having 2,100 square feet of event space and 500 square feet of storage space, according to the applicant.

Euphoria Loft's developer said the new operation "will offer a luxurious and versatile" setting for all sorts of special occasions.

"Whether you're planning an intimate gathering, a corporate seminar, a wedding reception, or a milestone celebration, our meticulously designed event space is ready to transform moments into memories," wrote the applicant in paperwork submitted to the town.

The hours of operation will be Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 3 p.m. to 12 a.m.

During the week, event hours will be based on "appointments only," the applicants wrote.

In addition, the new facility will offer all of the standard food, bar, and stage/audio services common with all event venues.

Euphoria Loft would occupy part of the top floor of the two-story, multi-use commercial building located there.
