New Owners Of CT Deli Have Big Plans: Report

The new owners of a Wethersfield deli have plans to expand hours, add a bar, serve brunch, and more.

WETHERSFIELD, CT — Max Bibo's Delicatessen in Wethersfield has big plans to "take it to the next level," according to The Hartford Courant. The deli is expanding hours of operation and adding a bar, breakfast offerings, weekend brunch, and dinner.

The restaurant previously closed at 3 p.m. The new co-owners have already made some changes including a new salad bar.

Max Bibo's recently received a liquor license and will serve wine, beer, and mixed drinks once the restaurant has a permit. There's no set timeline for the changes.

Another Max Bibo's location in downtown Hartford closed permanently in 2020 due to the pandemic. At one time, Max Bibo's had four locations in Hartford alone.

The restaurant specializes in deli classics serving a variety of soups, salads, and sandwiches.

The Wethersfield store has a 4.3-star rating on Google reviews. One diner wrote: "Finally stopped into Max Bibos after driving by it for years. Good variety of sandwiches, salads, and baked goods. The sandwich was solid all around, good bread and meat quality."
