PRESS RELEASE

January 2, 2022

The Town of Wethersfield has received a very limited amount of At Home COVID Testing Kits which will be distributed tomorrow, Monday, January 3, 2022 starting at 10 am until the kits are gone. The distribution will be held at the Wethersfield High School 411 Wolcott Hill Road. Please use the main driveway on Wolcott Hill Road to access the site. We will also be able to distribute N95 Masks at the same time. Please do not line up before 8 am and no test kits and masks will be given out until 10:00 am. There will be 2 test kits per car. The Town did not receive their full supply from the State, so we have 1300 kits to distribute which would be about 650 vehicles. You do not have to get out of your car or go into a building to receive them. This is a drive through operation.

Upon proof of Wethersfield residency, each vehicle will receive 2 test kits along with instructions. Each kit contains 2 tests to be used on one individual. If you do not live in Wethersfield, you will not be able to receive test kits or masks.

We will be going to be giving a limited number of test kits and masks to all congregate facilities for those who are disabled. We also will be making sure our public safety staff receive a small number of kits so we can keep Police, Fire, EMS and Physical Services fully staffed as possible to respond to emergencies.

If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID, please do not come to the pickup site, but ask someone who is healthy to pick the kit up for you. We do not wish to infect those who are working to distribute the kits and masks.

The Town Hall will be closed on Monday January 3rd so if you have any question, please call Police Dispatch at 860-721-2900.
