2011 Wilton CMT Tests Show Marginal Decline Compared to 2010 Stats
While Wilton students in grades 3-8 are still some of the best performing in the state, they have shown some declination on the CMTs compared to last year.

Connecticut Mastery Tests (CMT) results show that Wilton's elementary and middle schoolers performed just slightly less, on average, this year than they did in 2010, according to data released Wednesday afternoon by state education officials.
The CMT, taken annually by more than 240,000 public school students in grades 3 through 8, consists of seven hours of testing in math, reading, writing, and — at some levels — science.
Students are graded on a scale of 1 ("below basic") to 5 ("advanced") on each section. Though the test is not pass/fail, Connecticut sets a goal range and a proficiency level for each grade and subject.

Compared to the state as a whole, Wilton consistently scored higher -and in many cases, much higher - than state averages in comparable grades.
