Wilton Police Report Rollover Crash Involving Impaired Driver
Wilton police detail a rollover crash on Sharp Hill Road that led to impaired driving charges and a court date.
WILTON, CT — A Wilton woman was taken into custody early Dec. 12 following a rollover crash on Sharp Hill Road, according to the Wilton Police Department.
Police said officers came upon a black 2021 Hyundai Palisade shortly after midnight that had overturned on its side on Route 106, just east of Cherry Lane. The operator, identified as Heena Adhyapak, 44, of Skunk Lane in Wilton, had exited the vehicle through the sunroof and was standing nearby. She was not injured.
During the investigation, officers determined that Adhyapak had consumed alcohol earlier in the evening, police said. What appeared to be red wine was observed spilled on the vehicle’s airbags. After being evaluated by Wilton EMS and declining transport to Norwalk Hospital, Adhyapak did not successfully complete standardized field sobriety tests, according to police. In Connecticut, the legal blood alcohol content limit for driving is 0.08 percent for those 21 and older.

Police said Adhyapak later declined to submit to chemical testing at police headquarters. She was processed on charges including operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to drive in the proper lane.
Adhyapak was released after posting bond and was scheduled to appear at Stamford Superior Court on Dec. 22, police said.
