Ablaze 18-Wheeler Causes Traffic Delays on 84 Eastbound Exit 3 (Updated)
Police said "Traffic is shut down"; traffic backed up for about "two miles" according to an eyewitness report.

Update, 5:05 p.m.
An eyewitness told Patch that "traffic is backed up for about two miles west of the 84/684 interchange in NY state," and "past the NY state border."
"People are getting off exit one" to avoid the traffic, said the eyewitness.

The fire is out and is now smoking, reported the eyewitness, although westbound traffic is moving just fine.

An 18-wheeler caught fire on Interstate 84 East about just after 4 p.m., according to the Connecticut Western State Police.
"Traffic is shutdown" on I-84 eastbound, said a responder who answered Patch's call but hung up before identifying himself.
Police had no more details at this time.
