Copper Gutter Thief Hits House on Range Road

This is the third incident involving copper gutter larceny since the beginning of the July.

Looks like the is still on the prowl.

Yesterday, police received a complaint from a resident on Range Road concerning the alleged theft of fifty feet of copper gutter downspouts from the outside of the resident's house. 

The incident is believed to have occurred between July 12 and July 18, police said, presumably when the residence was temporarily unoccupied.

This to have been hit by the gutter thief, although the locations of the thefts have been varied: on July 1 a similar incident happened on East Meadow Road; on July 2, a man was spotted holding copper gutters but fled after being spotted by a woman walking her dog on Chestnut Hill Road. 

Police said they are investigating the thefts and looking into scrap metal yards in the surrounding areas, but have no leads at this time. Police said that the house on Range Road was not readily visible from the road.

Police had not approximated the value of the downspouts as of this writing. 

Police are requesting citizens to report any suspicious activity in these areas to the police.
