“I’m not doing that, dude,” said a youth sitting with his friend outside Starbucks, both looking down under the black outside tables which suddenly began to shake.

A giant Ford Escalade, its bumper extending over the curb near the coffee shop’s front doors,  rocked back and forth for approximately 20 seconds.

As the ground settled, Wilton residents emerged from nearby buildings. The word ‘tremor’ peppered conversations

“A friend of mine in Milford was with his lawyer in Manhattan, and his lawyer said ‘the office building is shaking,’” said Joan Howard, who was at Starbucks when it happened.

“Myself experienced with earthquakes, because I lived in California, I recognized it,” said Howard.

“I was looking for a seam to open in the sidewalk or something,” said Tom Clark, sipping at an iced coffee.

“It was a brand new experience! I thought, is this real?” said an elderly resident who only identified herself as Maggie.

Twitter became electrified as people around Fairfield County and the country buzzed over reports of the Pentagon and official buildings being evacuated.
