Free Disco Lessons and the Gathering of the Vibes

Here are five things Wilton residents to need to know for the weekend of July 26-28.

Here are a few things to know about Wilton from July 26 to 28 to help you plan your weekend. Check out the Patch calendar of events for more things to do.

  1. The weather: The weekend forecast is predicting highs in the low and mid-80s. Friday and Saturday should be mostly clear, but there may be scattered thunderstorms on Sunday.
  2. Hear some good vibes: The Gathering of the Vibes festival started Thursday and continues through Sunday in Bridgeport. There are bands and activities for the whole family, including hair wraps, a Ferris wheel and arts and crafts, with weekend camping passes priced at $225. Visit the event page for more information.
  3. Learn how to disco: A professional dancer will be teaching kids and adults disco moves from the 1970s Friday at the Wilton Library. The event is free and will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. Registration is required, so see the event page for more details.
  4. Sign up to learn Chinese: Registration is now open for classes at the Chinese Language School of Connecticut. Classes are held Sundays in Riverside, but there are also weekday classes in Greenwich. For those ages 18 and up, Mandarin classes are available. See the website for more details.
  5. Check out a European store: With the royal baby's birth this week, you might be in the mood for some European shopping. Goldenberry opened in New Canaan earlier this month and has perishable goods and knickknacks from around Europe. Check out the article about the store for more information.
