O'Donnell said police, the school's incident response team, and the district's technology department quickly determined the image was one harvested from Google Images. The school does not know who posted the image, but police are working with Snapchat to figure out who posted the image.
"Our school is a safe place, but our focused efforts will help to keep it safe going forward," wrote O'Donnell in a his email to the school community. "We have a proactive mindset regarding student security, social and emotional wellness, and building climate."

O'Donnell asked anyone with information that could help the investigation to contact him. In January, a student was arrested for allegedly making a threat against the school. She was arrested in February after a week of investigation, and charged with breach of peace and threatening.
"Our response to this incident began well before today and will continue long after, rooted in work designed to know our students well and create a climate that is physically, socially, and emotionally safe," O'Donnell wrote.
