Sip-Shop-Share with Local Artisans at WEPCO

If you can't say it three times fast, just show up. The Sip-Shop-Share is Thurs., Nov. 14. Funds and items collected benefit Elder House Adult Day Center. Also, WHS students will sell Warriors items to fundraise for PGP.

As the holidays near, everyone wants an excuse to celebrate, spend time with friends and help those in need. And in the spirit of the nearing holiday season, a group of local artisans and small businesses have joined forces.

Jennifer Angerame, the owner of Southern Yankee, designer of clothing, gifts and accessories taking vintage pieces from the past and making them chic for today, has asked other local businesses to join her for this shopping event which will raise funds and collect items for the Elder House Adult Day Center.

Items they will be collecting, instead of admission, are: Advil or Tylenol, boxed chocolates & cookies (sugar free and regular) crossword puzzle and word search books black/blue/red poker chips, or large size Crayola markers.  Cash donations are also greatly appreciated.

Ms. Angerame got the idea for this event when she realized there used to be lots of holiday fairs to shop at in the area that have since disappeared.

"We all live in a small town with tons of moms. Busy moms. With little time to socialize," said Angerame in a release. "I can promise this event will be easy, casual and fun!"

Angerame made it clear the event is not about making money, but rather about getting people out during a sometimes stressful and often hectic time of year to socialize, become acquainted with some local businesses and give to a local cause.

Another fun twist on the "sharing" part of this event is the high school classes, with the help of the PGP parents, are invited to sell their PGP fundraising items.  This is a perfect way to support our parents and students and buy some great Warrior items.

Participating vendors at Sip - Shop- Share include A Single Strand, which was featured on Patch last month, Nod Hill Soap, Diaper Bag Dailies, Carrot Top Kitchens, and Sabina Furst Designs.

Sip-Shop-Share is scheduled for Thurs., Nov. 14 from 9:00am - 1:00pm and 7pm-9pm at WEPCO, 36 New Canaan Rd, Wilton Ct. There will be coffee and goodies available during the day and wine and light appetizers served in the evening.
