Katie Sanford, co-owner of Petite Chou Chou, has six items that she recommends for kids attending summer camp this year.
- Keens are waterproof sandals with closed toes, great for camp because they're "supportive like a sneaker," Sanford said. The shoes are priced at $56 and are available for boys and girls of all ages.
- Sunglasses offer UV protection for the eyes and are available in many colors and styles for $24.
- Elastic hair ties can double as bracelets, won't pull hair and come in a variety of colors and designs. Sets are available for $5-10.
- Beach tunics are another staple that can double as dresses, and the cotton fabric is easy to wash after a long day of play. Petite Chou Chou offers several styles and colors for $39.
- Neon-colored shorts and tank tops are "fun, age-appropriate" undergarments that are meant to be shown, Sanford said. The items are priced at $15.
- Glitter tattoos are offered in-store to all customers free of charge, but Petite Chou Chou also sells sets for $20 that can be used on rainy days or taken to camp to share with friends.
All items are available at Petite Chou Chou, located at 5 River Rd.
Now through July 4, mention "Lyla" at the register to donate 15 percent of the sale price to Lyle Theoharides, a 5-year-old Wilton resident who was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
