The 2011 Republican Caucus Slate

The Republicans endorsed William Brennan for first selectman, among others.

The Wilton Republican Town Comittee met on Wednesday night to endorse several candidates, some new and some old, for the upcoming elections.

Below is the slate, with some commentary provided by Al Alper, chair of the Wilton Republican Town Committee.

Alper on First Selectman, Bill Brennan – “Bill has demonstrated extraordinary leadership over the last 6 years; setting a standard for future first selectman to aspire to.  We are very grateful to him for willingly stepping up to the challenge and particularly thankful to his wife, Kathleen for allowing the citizens of Wilton to share his time with her.”

On Selectman (four year term): Hal Clark –“Hal been bee a tremendous selectman and advocate for Wilton.  His leadership on multiple fronts and vast knowledge of the issues make him a invaluable member of the Board – we are very lucky to have Hal stand for re-election”

On Selectman (two year term): Jim Saxe –“Jim Saxe has been a tireless and vocal advocate for accountability and responsible fiscal management during his tenure on the Board of Education.  Prior to that, while a member of the Wilton Library Board, Jim was instrumental in helping to contain costs and pool resources during the library’s expansion which resulted in millions of dollars in savings.”
