Tuesday, Aug. 9 Duct Tape for Teens, 3 – 5 p.m. Join artist Katie Stevenson and learn to make flowers, wallets, ties or even shoes with duct tape. Registration required. Limited space. Wednesday, Aug. 10 Wednesday Wanderings—Stamford Museum and Nature Center, 11:30 – 12:30 p.m. Join the library at Stamford Museum and Nature Center for one of this summer's Wednesday Wanderings! Our group will take a tour of Heckscher Farm and learn about all the farm animals. Enjoy the playground and hiking trails after our tour. Don't forget your cameras! Ages 4-10, caregivers must be present. Registration required; no fee. Sponsored by the Coyle Family Young Readers Fund.

Wednesday, Aug. 10 Teen Band – Heatherbird, 8 – 9 p.m. Teen band, Heatherbird (with Austin Schaefer, Chris Dehn, Matt Stone, Brandon Ray and Emily Lutz), perform a mix of blues, jam and bluegrass music. Thursday, Aug. 11 Teen Drop-in Crafts—Decoupage Coasters, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Drop by the teen area between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. (or until supplies run out) and make a unique beverage coaster. Thursday, Aug. 11 Thrilling Thursdays – The Buzz on Bees, 2 – 3 p.m. Master bee keeper Leslie Huston will join us for this hands-on presentation about bees. Ms. Huston will share her knowledge of bees with a lively, interactive program in which children will have the opportunity to get a close look at her observation hive and bee keeper's equipment. Kids are sure to have a great time! Children ages 4-10 with caregivers. Registration required; no fee. Sponsored by the Fink Family Fund for Wilton Library's Environmental Initiative.
Thursday, Aug. 11 Mythology Club for Kids, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Children in grades 3-5 are invited to join us for this exciting new book club! Each month we will read a book on a mythological theme and discuss it. Snacks will be provided and an activity or craft will be made. The book for the month of August is Zeus King of the Gods by George O'Connor and there will be activities about the Greek Gods. Caregivers must remain in the building for children under 12. Friday, Aug. 12 Summer Movie for Littles—Yo Gabba Gabba Circus, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Children and caregivers are invited to cool down with a movie this summer. Yo Gabba Gabba Circus will be shown and snacks will be served. No registration, no fee. Caregivers must be present for children under 8 years of age and in the building for children under 12 years old. Sponsored by the Coyle Family Young Readers Fund.
Friday, Aug. 12 Summer Movie for Kids—Mars Needs Moms, 2 – 3:30 p.m. Children are invited to cool down with a movie. Mars Needs Moms (PG) will be shown and snacks will be served. All ages, a caregiver must be present for children under 8 years of age, caregiver must be in the building for children under 12 years old. No registration necessary; no fee. Saturday, Aug. 13 WINRs (Wilton Intermediate Nutmeg Readers) Circle, 3 – 4 p.m. Calling all children in grades 4-6! Each month the WINRs Circle book club discusses a new 2012 Nutmeg nominated book. In addition to discussion, children will have the opportunity to participate in activities, games, trivia, and pizza generously donated by Wilton Pizza. This month's Nutmeg book is Signal by Cynthia DeFelice. Bring a friend, win a prize! Children in grades 4-6 with caregiver in the building. Registration required; no fee.
