30 Vehicles Broken Into In Windsor: Reports

Several people in a reportedly stolen Range Rover were caught on camera breaking numerous car windows, according to media reports.

WINDSOR, CT — Police are investigating after 30 cars were broken into in the early morning hours on Thursday, according to media reports.

A witness told police that several men wearing masks broke several car windows and departed in a stolen Range Rover, NBC CT reported. The Range Rover was stolen from a home on Joshua Hill, NBC CT reported.

Police spotted the stolen vehicle near I-91, but the driver took off and nearly struck a police cruiser, NBC CT reported.

The break-ins were reported just after 4 a.m. and a camera caught several people "smashing windows and opening doors at a home on Palisado Ave.," WFSB 3 TV reported.

A neighbor told WFSB 3 TV that there were five suspects, and they broke into seven cars on her property.

“We looked around and there was glass everywhere and our windows were shattered,” the neighbor told WFSB 3 TV. "... We’re angry that folks felt entitled to come on our property and do harm."

WTNH News 8 reported that some cars at the Marriott and Hilton Garden Inn were broken into and that South Windsor has 13 break-ins too.
