Parents told Channel 3 that they were putting their child to bed when they saw the ceiling fall on top of the child. No injuries were reported. The family said their two dogs were also ok.

However, they described what happened as a very close call. The parents said they were heading to sleep just after 10:15 p.m. That’s when a massive tree came crashing down through their roof. The parents said sheetrock landed on their 3-year-old. The child started crying but was not hurt.

“We were going to bed, and I heard a loud boom, and then I heard glass crash, and then I heard my son cry, and I went into his room and took the ceiling that was on him off of him, and ran downstairs to our lower level,” said Shai Conniff, homeowner.

Due to the size of the tree, officials said it was going to take a while to get it cleared and have the house restored. The parents said that in the meantime they plan to stay with family.
