WINDSOR, CT — A Windsor resident was arrested Wednesday on a warrant charging him with first-degree possession of child sexual abuse material and promoting a minor in an obscene performance, according to state police.

Members of the Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes Unit served the arrest warrant for Mahmood Musid, 40, following an investigation which started last May after child sexual abuse material was discovered as being shared from the Internet account assigned to his residence, state police said.

In September, state troopers, with assistance from the Windsor Police Department, executed a search and seizure warrant at Musid's residence. Computers and computer-related equipment were seized, and examination revealed "thousands, if not tens of thousands or more files depicting child sexual abuse," according to an affidavit supporting Musid's arrest.
