Windsor 2024 Election Results: Big Day For National, State Incumbents

The polls have closed in Windsor for the 2024 elections, and here are the latest updates on how local residents voted.

WINDSOR, CT — Shortly after the polls closed Tuesday night, Vice President Kamala Harris was announced as the winner of Connecticut's seven electoral college votes, defeating former President Donald J. Trump and three other candidates, according to the Associated Press.

Also, U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-CT, won re-election and a third term in Congress, according to projections. He defeated GOP challenger Matthew M. Corey and two other candidates.

With just over 70 percent of the precincts reporting, Fox61 declared longtime Democratic incumbent John Larson the victor over Republican challenger Jim Griffin and Green Party candidate Mary Sanders in the battle for the District 1 seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Douglas McCrory is headed for another term in State Senatorial District 2. With Hartford yet to report its totals, the Democrat compiled more than 78 percent of the vote in the district's other two towns, Bloomfield and Windsor, to assume an insurmountable lead over Republican challenger Kristin Hoffman. The 7th Senatorial District was again won by longtime incumbent Republican John Kissel, defeating challenger Cynthia Mangini.

Democratic incumbent Maryam Khan, who was basically unopposed save for write-in candidate Tracy Funnye, will continue to represent the 5th District in the state House, while Democrat Jane Garibay soundly outdistanced Republican challenger Len Walker in the 60th District.
