Windsor Girls Claim Ninth Straight Indoor Track State Title; Boys 2nd
The Warrior girls continued their dominance of the Class L division, while some members of the boys' squad brought home event championships.

NEW HAVEN, CT — For the ninth straight season, the girls team from Windsor High School brought home a state title by capturing the CIAC Class L indoor track and field championships Tuesday at the Floyd Little Athletic Center.
The Warriors compiled 93 points to nearly double the 48 of runner-up Naugatuck. Simsbury placed third with 47.
In addition to the team crown, Windsor girls also prevailed in three individual events. Maya Donzella won the 1,600 meter run with a time of 5:14.81; the 4 x 200 relay team of Jordyn Williams, Ava Coleman, Grayson Harris and Syniah Harding won in 1:48.83; and the 1,600 sprint medley quartet of Williams, Harding, Coleman and Harris covered the distance in 4:31.85.

The Warrior boys team also fared well, claiming two individual event championships en route to second place in the team competition with 58 points. Xavier won the division for the fourth straight year with 88 points.
State champions among the Windsor boys were Javonni Reynolds, who won the 300 meter dash in 35.69 seconds, and the 4 x 400 relay team of Shelldon Simpson, Reynolds, Jaylen Wesley and Michael Huff, whose time of 3:30.10 was more than three seconds faster than runner-up Bethel.
