With so many reasons to be happy, it is hard to pick just one thing I am thankful for. I think I have figured out how to put many into one feeling — love.

I love my giving, understanding, joyful, beautiful family. My sister Jane is my best friend. I love my daughter, son-in-law and their beautiful 10-month-old daughter who is my granddaughter. I love my 13-year-old mini dachshund Emma, who is blind and deaf and still can find me to cuddle. I love my friends — who let me just be me. I love my community. We support our diverse community including special needs adults and 22 groups from different countries. I love that I am able to volunteer with different groups despite my challenges. I am love and thankful for a smile returned to me in passing on the street. I love that in dark times we all spread love to help our neighbors through the storm. I love that I was given my life and celebrate every morning I wake up. And for all the love in my life, I am very thankful!
What do you wish others knew about what you’re thankful for?
That you do not need money, items, or status to be truly happy. Life is very simple — it is the apple that is dangled that turns our happiness into need.”
