On Campus: Great Achievements By College Students From Windsor Locks And East Windsor

WINDSOR LOCKS-EAST WINDSOR, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia. More great feats will be noted as they are received in the coming weeks.

Bob Jones University, Greenville SC

• Elizabeth Farley, a resident of Windsor Locks, has been named to the Bob Jones University Bruins women's cross country team roster for the 2025-26 academic year. Farley is a senior majoring in kinesiology at BJU.

Southern New Hampshire University, Manchester NH

• Shanique Hastings-Vassell of Windsor Locks and Toni Avarista of Broad Brook were named to the summer 2025 President's List. The summer terms run from May to August. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term are named to the President's List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.
• Markaiya Williams of East Windsor (06088) has been named to Southern New Hampshire University's summer 2025 Dean's List. The summer terms run from May to August. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.699 for the reporting term are named to the Dean's List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.

University of Rhode Island, Kingston RI

• Three local students were among more than 3,500 graduates during URI's 2025 commencement ceremonies, which took place May 16-18, 2025. Courtney Perez of Windsor Locks graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in communicative disorders; Caden Saavedra of Windsor Locks graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sports media and communication; and Alexandra Trull of Broad Brook graduated with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree. Students who received the honor of cum laude graduated with a GPA of at least 3.3.

Western New England University, Springfield MA

• Eleven local students were named to the Dean's List for the spring 2025 semester. They are
