Day 4: Power Restoration Progress In Windsor Locks, East Windsor

Less than 2 percent of residents in Windsor Locks remained without power early Saturday morning, but nearly 29 percent in East Windsor.

WINDSOR LOCKS-EAST WINDSOR, CT — Power restoration efforts by Eversource Energy have increased dramatically in East Windsor since late Thursday night, as more than 875 residents who were without electricity at that time have regained service.

As of its 2 a.m. update Saturday, a total of 1,801 customers in East Windsor, or 28.56 percent, were still without power, down from 2,684 late Thursday. The latest figure for Windsor Locks shows 102 outages, or 1.56 percent.

At its peak Wednesday, 7,378 customers were affected in the two towns.

Windsor Locks has opened a charging center at Southwest Veterans Park Pavilion. The hours are dawn until 10 p.m. Masks are required and social distancing must be observed.
