LOCKPORT, IL—Lockport Township High School Junior Ellie Anselmo is the winner of this year’s Congressional Art Competition for the Third District of Illinois. Earlier this week, Congressman Dan Lipinski (IL-3) congratulated Anselmo outside his Lockport district office for winning the competition.

Anselmo used watercolor, marker, and the rule of thirds to create her work entitled Worried about the wrong masks. Ellie’s artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for the next year alongside winning pieces from other Congressional districts across the country.

“Since 1982, the Congressional Art Competition has celebrated some of the most talented young artists from around the country,” said Rep. Lipinski. “Ellie Anselmo is an outstanding exemplar of this talent. It was great to have the opportunity to meet with and congratulate Ellie and her parents, and to hear about her future plans."
