Part Of Stoughton Road In East Windsor Closed Due to Fire At Business

EAST WINDSOR, CT — A portion of Stoughton Road was closed Monday morning as firefighters worked at a fire at an automotive business.

The commercial structure fire was reported at 10:59 a.m. at Central A/S at 5 Stoughton Road. Upon arrival, firefighters saw flames coming from around a vent pipe on the roof as well as smoke coming from the building, Warehouse Point Fire Chief James Barton told Patch.

Within 20 minutes, crews extinguished the blaze, which was contained to a ventilation unit for an existing spray booth. No injuries were reported, Barton said.

Emergency personnel had Stoughton Road blocked off at the junction of Route 5. On the eastern end of the street, traffic was being diverted through the Stoughton Ridge condo complex.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
