Storm Isaias Wreaks Havoc In Windsor Locks, East Windsor [PHOTOS]

A powerful storm late Tuesday afternoon left more than 7,000 homes without electricity in East Windsor and Windsor Locks.

WINDSOR LOCKS-EAST WINDSOR, CT — Arborists, landscapers, tree trimmers and stump grinders were out in full force Wednesday morning throughout East Windsor and Windsor Locks, as residents began the process of cleaning up after Tropical Storm Isaias caused a path of destruction late Tuesday afternoon.

Numerous trees had fallen - some onto power lines and utility wires - and storm debris was visible at every turn. A total of 3,716 Eversource Energy customers in East Windsor, or 58.92 percent, were without power as of 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, while 3,441, or 52.49 percent, were out in Windsor Locks.

By its 4 p.m. update, Eversource reported 3,719 customers, or 58.97 percent, still out in East Windsor, and 3,446 customers, or 52.57 percent, in Windsor Locks. Across Connecticut, 615,994 Eversource customers, or 48.08 percent, still had no electricity.
