In 2019, the Hartford Foundation established $100,000 community funds for each of the 29 towns in the Foundation’s region, which includes the town of Windsor Locks. In 2022, the Foundation provided an additional $50,000 to each community fund, with $30,000 immediately available for grantmaking and $20,000 being invested in the funds’ endowments.
The purpose of the community funds is to support residents in taking ownership around the needs in their towns, encourage broad and inclusive civic engagement and anchor the Hartford Foundation in each town. In 2020, the Windsor Locks’ Community Fund Advisory Committee was selected. The list of current members is available at www.hfpg.org/windsorlockscf.
