Debbie Kearns Named as DSEA Teacher of the Month for December 2025
Congratulations to Debbie Kearns, Networks Schools teacher, honored as Delaware's December 2025 Teacher of the Month!

Our very own Debbie Kearns has been recognized as DSEA’s Teacher of the Month for December! A New York City native, Debbie taught public school in New York and California before beginning her 26-year career in Delaware public education. Now she teaches at the Networks School for Employability Skills in the Christina School District, where she was named the Teacher of the Year in 2016 and 2022.
Debbie also recently received the Ann Grunert Lifetime Achievement Award from Special Olympics Delaware, where she has volunteered since 1994 and currently coaches multiple teams, including Networks’ Polar Bear Plunge team The Plunging Penguins.
“Ms. Kearns is a model instructor,” her colleagues told us. “She works hard every day to get to know every student, and she willingly shares her endless skills, creativity, knowledge, and enthusiasm with staff and students alike. She is an incredible asset to her school and her community.”
