On Friday, November 14, elementary students around Christina School District took part in the annual "Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day" — a special event that honors civil rights activist Ruby Bridges.
Back in 1960, at just six years old, Ruby Bridges bravely became the first African American child to attend an all-white school in New Orleans, walking through crowds with courage that changed history.
This month, our students not only walked in her honor but also learned about Ruby’s incredible story and the impact she made.
