FLORIDA — Downtown St. Augustine is the most romantic place in Florida, according to a recently released list.

Located on the state's northeast coast, those who visit St. Augustine can take a stroll along the brick-lined streets and enjoy the city's European flavor complete with centuries-old buildings, horse-drawn carriages and hidden courtyards.

A recent list by Travel + Leisure compiled the most romantic places in every state. Writers agreed St. Augustine's downtown is worth a visit.

"Golden-sand beaches, hundreds of years of history, and great year-round weather make St. Augustine a popular destination among Floridians and tourists alike," according to Travel + Leisure writers. "The historic downtown is packed with restaurants, bars, and shops, making it an ideal place for a date night."
