FL Man Credits Pregnant Pooch For $2M Lottery Win

TALLAHASSEE, FL — A Florida man credits his pregnant pooch for his $2 million win playing the Florida Lottery.

Leonard Linton, 42, of Pinetta claimed the top prize from the 100X THE CASH Scratch-Off game at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee last week. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,645,000.00.

Linton his tiny, pregnant dachshund named Ivy has a lot to do with his big win.

According to Linton, he received a call that Ivy was not feeling well. To get to her as quickly as possible, Linton took a different route home, stopping at Stop N Shop located on 540 East Howard Street in Live Oak, where he purchased the lucky ticket.

When asked if he had any big plans, Linton responded, "I still can't believe it. This is life-changing, but I'm definitely getting Ivy a new kennel!" The retailer will receive a $4,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

The $10 game 100X THE CASH, launched in January and features more than $337.9 million in cash prizes, including eight top prizes of $2,000,000! The game's overall odds of winning are 1-in-3.44.
