'Hero' Dog Leads Police To Missing 86-Year-Old Woman In FL: WATCH

"He seemed like he was on a mission," the responding deputy said in an interview. "He practically dragged me to her."

DESTIN, FL — A heroic rescue was captured on video recently when a dog named Eeyore led Florida deputies to his missing 86-year-old "grandmother."

In a post on social media released Tuesday, the Oskaloosa County Sheriff's Office said the initial call came in from a distraught man concerned about his wife's whereabouts after she took Eeyore for a walk in their Destin neighborhood.

"She takes that dog, but she never takes more than 10 or 15 minutes," the man is heard saying on Deputy Devon Miller's body camera. "It's almost an hour now. It's over an hour now."

After getting a description of Eeyore, Miller returned to her patrol vehicle to look for the pair. That's when she spotted Eeyore approaching her, his leash still attached and the woman nowhere in sight.

In the body camera footage, Miller is seen taking Eeyore's leash and telling him to "show her where his mama is."

"He seemed like he was on a mission," Miller said in an interview shared on the agency's Facebook page. "He practically dragged me to her."

In an interview with WSAZ, Sheriff Eric Aden said the woman injured her leg. Miller called paramedics, who treated the woman when they arrived.

“The dog lay down beside the woman, as you can see in the video. Clearly protective of the homeowner," Aden said.

The woman also appeared grateful for her four-legged friend's determination and loyalty.

“He wouldn’t leave. He kept coming back to me,” she said in the body camera footage. “Oh, Eeyore, you’re a good boy. Grandma loves you.”

As for Miller, she said she was relieved when Eeyore led her to his owner and called him the main hero responsible for his grandma's rescue.

"He deserves lots of belly rubs and a steak dinner," Miller said. "That dog did everything."

The mishap happened last month, but the sheriff's office released the footage on Tuesday.

Deputy Miller has been a law enforcement officer with the Oskaloosa Sheriff's Department for just over two years, the agency said. She started as a cadet before becoming a deputy. The agency said she's also known for rescuing a cat from a drainage ditch in Destin.
