Missing FL Puppy Found Dead After $10K Reward Offered For Safe Return

VERO BEACH, FL — A Florida woman's desperate search for her missing puppy has come to a sad end.

Kayce, a 6-month-old female Saint Bernard in Vero Beach, had been missing since June 4. Her owner, Melanie Stavert, offered a $10,000 reward for her safe return home.

On Thursday, she posted on Facebook that her dog had been found dead in a neighbor's backyard.

The Vero Beach Police Department also confirmed Kayce's death.

"Sadly Kayce has been located deceased due to possible drowning," the department posted to Facebook.

The circumstances leading up to Kayce's discovery was not immediately disclosed.
