Mother's Day Brunch Spots: Florida Eateries Among America's Best

FLORIDA — Are you looking for a special spot to celebrate Mother's Day after two years of low-key gatherings?

Florida is home to seven of the top brunch restaurants in the country, according to OpenTable's list of the 100 Best Brunch Spots in America.

OpenTable said an analysis of its data shows Mother's Day reservations to its clients are up 39 percent compared with pre–pandemic 2019, and up 13 percent compared with 2021.

Here are the Florida brunch spots that made the list:

• Dry Dock Waterfront Grill, Longboat Key: The “polished casual” restaurant overlooking Sarasota Bay is best known for local fresh grouper and red snapper. Favorite dishes include lobster bites and grilled grouper bites, plus Oysters Rockefeller, Bourbon Glazed Salmon and Chilean sea bass. See the full menu.
• RH Rooftop Restaurant, West Palm Beach: The venue says it has an ingredient-driven menu plus a curated selection of artisanal wines and craft beers. Popular dishes include the RH burger, lobster roll and salmon.
• Sails Restaurant, Naples: A display of whole fish delicacies are hand selected by guests, then prepared via wood-grilling or searing a la plancha. The menu encourages courses in European style starting with raw bar, crudo and tartares followed by lobster or seared Kobé over just-picked organic produce. See the full menu.

• Yardbird Table & Bar, Miami Beach: The restaurant says it pays tribute to American classics like shrimp grits, fried green tomatoes, sweet tea braised short ribs, and chicken and waffles. • The Boathouse, Lake Buena Vista: The restaurant has three distinctive bars, including The Dock Bar, built over the water. The gourmet menu features steaks, chops, fresh seafood and a raw bar. In a survey of 1,255 adults, 45 percent said they plan to make up for time lost with their mothers and mother figures during the pandemic by "going big" this year. And 48 percent of moms surveyed said their ideal Mother's Day involves going out to brunch or dinner.

Among those, nearly half (47 percent) are opting for brunch. The most popular cuisines represented on the list are American (30 percent), French (19 percent), contemporary American (11 percent) and seafood (10 percent).
