Summer Vacations: FL Among Best In The World, Ranking Says

FLORIDA — Though spring is in our midst, summer may be on the minds of travelers.

Global attractions could be alluring to some adventurers, but Travel + Leisure believes sights here in the U.S. stand up to worldwide summer destinations, such as Machu Picchu and Nicaragua.

So much so, the international magazine has added few U.S. settings to its recent list of 25 Best Summer Vacations Everyone Should Consider in 2024.

Among the popular summer vacation destinations is the Sunshine State that hosts some of the best bed and breakfasts across the nation, as well as the 2024 Best New Restaurant Award recipient.

The home of the 2024 Best New Small Town and one of the best barbecue joints in the South, Travel + Leisure recommends summer travelers check out Florida.

After all, the magazine says Florida "has it all." Travel + Leisure noted Florida's beaches, the Everglades and the "tropical island vibe of the Florida Keys."

Foodies can indulge in the flavors of key lime pie or the adventures of Walt Disney World and University Orlando. Miami, St. Augustine, Key West and Palm Beach are some of Florida's most attractive cities.

Aside from a beach day or a night at a club, Tripadvisor says visitors can also take advantage of the golf courses in Kissimmee. If one does decide to lounge around at the beach, Tripadvisor warns to watch for alligators.
