Children from 3 years- ld through adults can sign up now for a wide variety of programs through the Florida Academy of Performing Arts at Music Showcase.
Actors can participate in the upcoming musical performances of “Willy Wonka Kids” and “Guys and Dolls.” Classes focus on coaching in acting and singing, set, prop and costume design with performances at the end of the sessions in April.
Children 3 and 4 years old interested in learning about acting or musical instruments can sign up for the tot-time theater or tunes for tots programs. In the tot-time theater program, pre-K students can explore what its like to be on stage by using their own imagination and creativity with fairytale stories. And in tunes for tots, pre-k students will enjoy fun and interactive classes learning about music and instruments with games and activities.

The academy is also offering acting classes. Acting sampler is for students ages 7 and up who want to try out and learn about the different types of acting methods like musical theater, monologues, reading scripts, stage direction and characterization.
Private acting classes are also available for students wanting one-on-one study with an instructor.

Students can also gain experience in learning to develop their skills on stage by taking our Artist Development Class. Students ages 11 and up interested in learning about participating in film, tv or commercials can register for the television and film class. They’ll be instructed on the language used by directors, cold reads, auditioning techniques, timing, scene study and more.
Students can learn to put their voices over characters in music videos and tv and films in the Voice-Over Class. Students will learn about the equipment software, voice acting, creating sound effects and inserting your voice over music and in storyboards.
If you’ve always wanted to learn to play an instrument, then there’s beginning group guitar or group violin classes. There’s also Rockestra, show choirs and much more.
