Credit Union Offers Youth Savings Program

Throughout the month of April, Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union will host a series of activities for children designed to promote financial literacy with their Youth Savings Challenge program.

Current and prospective members can bring youngsters to any branch during regular business hours to participate.

“Not only is it important to us that children are taught financial responsibility at an early age, we want to make it fun and exciting. That’s why we are having games with prizes for kids of all ages at each of our service centers,” said Lori Allen, marketing coordinator for Tampa Bay Federal.

With Tampa Bay Federal’s Youth Saving Challenge:

• Youth members are given Quarter Saver Card at the branches to track goals, open an account and deposit quarters each time the saver is full.
• Youth members can sign up online or at each branch or a chance to win a $100, $50 or $25 deposit into their account, passes to Glazer’s Children’s Museum and other prizes.
• Children are eligible for other giveaways including $5, $20 and $100 Bill Saver Goal Handouts and McDonald’s menu items.
• Free Coin Counting Machines for Youth Accounts.
• Youth Savers Photos will be added to Tampa Bay Federal’s website or Facebook.

In addition to the daily activities, Tampa Bay Federal’s Riverview location, 10845 Boyette Rd., will host a Youth Fest with Shred-A-Thon for personal documents on Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with games, bounce houses, food and more for the entire family.
