78th Street Lanes Open After Crash

A Wednesday morning crash on 78th Street had closed the road in the area of Camden Field Parkway.

RIVERVIEW, FL — Update, May 31 11:50 a.m.: The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says 78th Street lanes have reopened following a Wednesday morning crash. Details about the accident are not yet available.

Earlier: The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is asking motorists to steer clear of a stretch of 78th Street Wednesday morning.

According to the agency, a crash in the area of 78th Street, just south of Causeway Boulevard, has forced the closing of the road. Authorities say 78th Street is closed in both the north- and southbound directions from Camden Field Parkway to 36th Avenue South.

A TECO pole was knocked down during the crash, the sheriff’s office said in an email sent around 10:30 a.m. May 31.

No further information about the crash is available at this time. It is unclear how long the closing might last.
