Shooting At Pin Chasers Tampa Earns Man Stay In Federal Prison

According to court records, Cedric Durham Jr., 22, was initially the target but he returned 30 rounds of ammunition.

TAMPA, FL — U.S. District Judge Thomas P. Barber has sentenced Cedric Durham Jr., 22, of Tampa to four years in federal prison for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. Durham pleaded guilty on Nov. 28.

According to court documents, on March 6, 2022, at 11:13 p.m., Tampa police were called to Pin Chasers Bowling Arcade at 4847 Armenia Avenue, for a shooting. Police said Durham was the initial target. But, after being shot at, he returned fire.

When police arrived, customers were running out of Pin Chasers in fear. Police spotted a vehicle fleeing the scene at a high speed. Police located the vehicle and its two occupants at St. Joseph's Hospital emergency room. Both had been shot but the wounds were superficial. Police found a gun that Durham was carrying as well as one in the vehicle.

The firearm Durham was carrying matched the forensic evidence at the scene indicating that Durham had returned fire using 30 rounds of ammunition.

Because Durham was previously convicted of a felony offense, he is prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition under federal law.

This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Tampa Police Department.
